Buddha Amitayus
Buddha Amitayus is the Sambhogakaya manifestation of Buddha Amitabha, the Buddha of Limitless Light, one of the five Dhyiani Buddhas and head of the Lotus family.
Amitayus is always depicted sitting and holding in his hands a vessel containing the nectar of immortality. He is invoked to protect from untimely death and to grant long life, happiness, and boundless light.
It brings inconceivable great merit to recite the mantra of Amitayus, which will protect us from severe sickness and other difficulties. Through the practice of Amitayus we can enforce our wisdom as well as our positive energies and gain long life – the opportunity to procede on the spiritual path for our benefit and the benefit of all sentient beings.
